The Consulting Toolkit Program is a series of activity-based and action learning training programs with one common goal – provide consultant with tools to help them frame and solve business problems in the most efficiently yet effectively approach.

This 2 Day program is specifically designed to enhance the presentation skills of consultants and professionals by equipping them with the technique and know how to deliver effective, and impactful presentations. Specifically, this executive seminar focuses on training of professional business communications including presentation preparation structure, delivery, strategy, using visual aids, and handling question and answer sessions. The highly participatory nature of the course enables the participant to be role play and participate in a variety of communication situations.


Training Objectives

The Consulting Toolkit Guide is a compilation of tools and techniques commonly used by the world's top strategic consulting firms in their quest to frame and solve business problems. The approach is a mean to an end with the following principles in mind:
  • Be issue and hypothesis driven - do not collect the data first, then pull it together
  • Do not be a slave to the work- plan if new findings emerge - developing step level change is a goal, not creating work-plan
  • Work as a team, but divide and conquer by performing task in parallel
  • Plan an aggressive schedule - but allow for extra learning time in the beginning
  • Assign one leader per task who is responsible for completion of deliverables
  • Maintain awareness of the critical path

Master Trainer

Martin Lim is a strategy consultant and practitioner of value investing. He is also a project manager with extensive experience across Asia. He has a background of industrial marketing, interactive marketing, business development and business management in industries like pharmaceutical, automobile, IT services, consulting services, private banking and wealth management. Martin holds a Computing Science Degree, a Master of Science in Management, and Executive Master of Science in Finance. His career path has led him to work for General Motors, Johnson & Johnson, and UBS AG. His past portfolio includes Asia-Pacific responsibilities in business developments and business management.

Martin enjoys teaching and he has conducted trainings in the following programs:
  • Provided customized training to several Chinese banks on private banking strategy, business model, structured advisory process and optimal organization structure in 2008 to 2009.
  • Taught the Financial Services Industry module for a Diploma Program at Baruch College in Singapore in 2008 and 2009
  • Collaborated with ERC Pte Ltd to develop government subsidized training programs for aspiring entrepreneurs in Singapore. Developed and taught two program modules: Analyzing Market Opportunities and Introduction to Entrepreneurship in 2002 to 2004
  • Performed training needs analysis to identify clients' needs for MS-Office training programs. Customized training materials and conducted office productivity software and soft-skills training for MNCs based in Singapore during 1993 to 1995
