Speaker's Profile:

Dr Sheh Seow Wah is a recognized scholar by the Public Service Department (Malaysia). He was further awarded research scholarship by National University of Singapore, whereby his research interest lies in Chinese values, Chinese management and organzational practises, and Change management for Small & Medium enterprises. He has over 70 publications in local daily, in-house corporate magazines, national and international journals and 3 books.

Dr Sheh has numerous marketing and consultation experiences. He has been in the education industry in both Singapore and Malaysia for more than 20 years. He was a Organization Health Survey consultants for a Singapore’s public higher learning institutes in 2003 and 2006. He was also a Organization Behaviour consultant for one of the ‘big six’ consultation firms in malaysia. He is currently ngaged as an internal Management Consultant for a shipping and resource-based conglomerate in Singapore. He specializes in family business succession program.

Confucian Values & Family Business
Confucius is the great sage in Chinese history. His teachings were used as the guiding principles during the Han dynasty. Thereafter, confucian values have since become the identity of Chinese culture.

With the proliferation of confucius teachings, family has been shaped as the building block of Chinese society. Its influence extends to business practises along family lines. Globalization has open competition from foreign business practises. The key challege remains whether family business practises can transform themselves while retaining their identity.

In the Chinese Classic Series, the participants will be able to embark on a Chinese cultural journey through the lens of contemporary studies and theories. The courses are designed to provide the participants a deep understanding of the Chinese wisdom, culture and thinking, which can be translated into practical business skill and personal knowledge.
